American actor and rapper Earl Simmons, born December 18, 1970, and passed away on April 9, 2021. He began rapping in the early 1990s . He released his debut album It's dark and Hell is Hot in 1998, which received both critical acclaim and commercial success. The album sold 251,000 copies within the first week of its release. [5][6] DMX's best-selling album,... and Then there Was X, was released in 1999. This album included the hit single "Party Up (Up In Here). The singles from 2003 "Where is the Hood At?" His 2003 singles, "Where the Hood at?" and "X Gon Making It To Ya", were also commercially profitable. He was the first artist to have an album release at No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts five times consecutively. [7] Overall, DMX sold over 74 million records worldwide. 8 DMX was in films like Belly, Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds. He was the main character in the reality series DMX. Soul of a Man. It was primarily airing on the BET cable television channel Never Die Alone. In 2003, he wrote a book of his memoirs entitled E.A.R.L. : The Autobiography of DMX. 9. DMX started his career in the music industry when he was 14 in 1984 when he beatboxed for Ready Ron. After being imprisoned for stealing a dog, it was then that he began writing his own lyrics and performing at the local recreation center, which was for younger children. In prison for carjacking it was his favorite time to spend his time writing lyrics. He also began to rap with K.Solo. He was released in summer of 1988, and then began to produce and sell his own mixtapes. In these mixes, he rapped over songs from other artists and sold them on streets corners. This helped him develop an audience in the local area of New York. Percee P as well as DMX were featured on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show 1991, during which they freestyled. He made a guest appearance along with Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and Mic Geronimo on the classic underground track "Time to Build" on Mic Geronimo's debut album in 1995.DMX passed away on April 9, 2021, following an induced heart attack by cocaine.
