Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28th in 1967) was an American performer and actress. She began her professional career as an teen and is most well famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer and auto salesman. She has three siblings. As a teenager, she sang in nightclubs in the night, as well as sneaking out of her house to sing. Following her studies in acting at the Wooster School, at 13 years old, she pursued a degree in drama at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. Born on April 28th, 1967 at Brookfield, Connecticut. Her German-American father is a car dealer and police agent. Kari's siblings are three. Kari was a nightclub singer as an teen, sneaking away from the house to sing. Kari began acting at the Wooster School aged 13 before going on to study drama in NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College as well the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under the renowned Uta Hagen. Kari began her journey into acting at the age of 13, and she got her first big break in 1987 when she appeared on MTV Remote Control.
