Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy, a half-English and half-Spanish woman, was born April 16, 1996 in Miami Florida. Dennis Alan Taylor is a retired banker and Jennifer Marina Joy is a psychologist. His father was an Argentine of Scottish as well as English heritage. Her mother is of Spanish and English descent. She was the first born of a household that included six children. Four of her siblings are from the previous marriage to Taylor's father. The family is initially of Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria at the age of 6 when Taylor-Joy was born. Taylor-Joy says the move to London was traumatic and that she was unable to study English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. Hill House became her school that she chose after being required to switch schools. Then, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School to study ballet and act in school productions. After 16 she quit the school to pursue acting as a career. Taylor-Joy had a destiny to become an actress from a very young age. The realization of her dreams came when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a modelling job.
